Kathleen and her daughter Kelly DiMario, have written the book, “What Kind Of Dog Am I?” aimed at teaching children that identity is more than just the “name” people use to define us. The book is based on Kelly’s adorable rescue dog, Posha. Everyone that meets Posha always asks, “What Kind of Dog is That?” Being that Kathleen is a child psychology professor, she realized this need to put a “name” on a dog could provide a teachable moment to young children who are also just learning the concept of self-identity. The story teaches children that just like Posha, who found her “furever family”, the answer to the question “Who Am I?” is not found in a “name”, but found in a child’s “forever family”, the people they love and the people who love them.
Currently, we are filling spots for our 2019 SPRING book tour. Attached you will find our printable pre-engagement activities package that reflect the NJ Common Core values and standards. I am happy to share that your school does not have to worry about any fees. Kathleen is able to waive her presentation fee since her book will be available for pre-sale to all students prior to your scheduled presentation date. On top of that, please note 10% of all book sales will be donated directly to your school to be used in a way of your choosing. This is a fantastic fundraising opportunity!
